MEET ALEXANDRA
Alexandra Angélique Leeper is the founder of Living Light Productions; a new film, TV and theatre production company, aimed to raise human consciousness and create positive change in the world, using the power of Hollywood’s dynamic world-wide reach.
She has been an original content film producer since 2009, alongside long-time Hollywood director/writer/producer, Bob Degus, (who is a three decade long Oscar voter, and produced the multi Academy Award nominated film, PLEASANTVILLE, starring Reese Witherspoon and Tobey Maguire, with Jon Kilik and Steven Soderbergh).
Alexandra produced the feature film AWAKEN (2022), starring Gabrielle Anwar (SCENT OF A WOMAN, BURN NOTICE), Henry Ian Cusick (LOST, MACGYVER) and Dave Baez (DEXTER), which explores the need for humanity to come together in times of crisis, and asks the question, “What will it take for us all to awaken?”
Currently, she is producing the ground-breaking new documentary film, THE YOGIS OF UKRAINE, which was filmed in Ukraine during the war, and is the true story of how more than 250 modern yogis are using yoga to empower themselves, heal their country, and inspire the world. The film takes an inspirational look at finding joy, happiness, and gratitude, set against a backdrop of unimaginable destruction. The lessons these Ukrainian yogis have learned will change the world.
Alexandra is also in development on THE WILD ONES, based on the true story of the woman in history who saved America's wild mustangs from being slaughtered in the 1950’s and 60’s. It’s a sweeping scale Hollywood film that is designed to make a significant impact towards restoring the natural balance of the planet, by creating a tipping point of awareness and change around ending the exploitation and slaughtering of animals.
As a producer and screenwriter, she has additional feature films in various stages of development. She wrote the feature length screenplay, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN INSANITY & GENIUS (trilogy), and co-wrote the book for an original musical, SCROOGE’S AWAKENING, designed to be shot as a feature film with a virtual reality component, as well as staged as a Broadway/West End musical, and presented as an immersive theatrical experience.
She earned her BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she trained to be a Broadway actress, before opening her first professional show to the backdrop of 9/11 in NYC. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA & Actors' Equity Association, and has trained with esteemed acting coaches Larry Moss and Terry Schreiber, and Broadway vocal coaches Betty Buckley and Candace Goetz.
Alexandra also has an in-depth long-time background in both Kundalini and Jivamukti yoga, and is a certified Kundalini teacher. She founded Yoga4Artists - a unique practice designed specifically for creatives. She produced the album “Kundalini Meditation Music,” with Sounds True, which made Amazon's top 100 albums of 2009.
She is a vegan activist, and believes in the oneness of all living beings. She is also a passionate and extensive world traveler. She reads and sings Kirtan in the ancient sacred language of Gurmukhi, and is learning Sanskrit.
